For those who don?t spend much time outdoors, nature can be intimidating. It is even more so at night. Help your young one find excitement and fun at dusk in a controlled setting. The Washington County Conservation Board will be hosting another Small Wonders program, titled ?In the Dark.? This program will begin at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park on Tuesday, Feb. 23 beginning at 6 p.m.
This hour-and-a-half program is geared towards preschoolers (ages 3-5) with an adult friend or relative. We?ll focus on things that go bump in the night and why they are not so scary. We?ll discover night animals, discuss our fears, and find the beauty in the night. The program will include stories, games, craft, and a short optional hike.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Conservation Education Center is located at the south end of Marr Park, one mile west of Ainsworth and six miles east of Washington on Highway 92.
For questions about this program, contact naturalist Pam Holz at the Washington County Conservation Board office, (319) 657-2400 or e-mail wccbnaturalist@iowatelecom.net.
