Explore weather with your preschooler

March has come in like a lion. Will it go out like a lamb? Explore the possibilities of the wide range of early spring weather with your preschooler in ?STEM Wonders: Wild Weather.? Sponsored by the Washington County Conservation Board, ?Wild Weather? will begin at 10 a.m. at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park on March 21.

During this hour-and-a-half program, we?ll explore the different ways weather is made as well as the types of weather. We?ll experiment with snow, sunlight, rainbows, tornadoes, thunderstorms, cloud formation, wind, and more. We?ll also take a short hike to check out the current weather and look for signs of weather changes in the landscape.

STEM Wonders sessions are expanded versions of Pint-Sized Science. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math and focuses on increasing interest as well as expertise in these fields. This is the third session of the series, but preschoolers need not have attended the first two. The remaining session will be April 18 on "Insects Around Us." Preschoolers may attend as many sessions as they wish and are able.

All children, ages 3 to 5, must be accompanied by an adult.

The Conservation Education Center is located at the south end of Marr Park, one mile west of Ainsworth and six miles east of Washington on Highway 92.
