Extension to host ‘Prepare for Fair’ June 10
May. 19, 2021 5:11 pm
The Washington County Extension Office, 4-H Project Superintendents, and the County Council are sponsoring “Prepare for Fair,” a new member event for 4-H members and parents/guardians on Wednesday, June 10 from 6:30-8 p.m. The evening will start in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall on the fairgrounds.
This workshop is designed to provide information and answer questions about the upcoming Washington County Fair. This will include an exploration of various project areas, exhibit forms, a tour of the fairgrounds, and a chance to meet different project superintendents. It is open to all 4-H’ers, but will be most beneficial to those in 4-H three years or less. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
The Extension Offices notes that this is an excellent time for youth and parents to learn about 4-H opportunities at the Washington County Fair and how to prepare at home for many project areas. Participants should feel free to bring any questions they have been wondering about.
Register to attend by June 9 at https://tinyurl.com/PrepareForFair21. For more information on Washington County 4-H, contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811. Follow “Washington County 4-H – Iowa” on Facebook for current information on 4-H activities across the county.
