American Eyecare held a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign in October of 2016 in which $600 was raised to benefit the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
The campaign was held at each of their four locations in Burlington, Fairfield, Ft. Madison and Keokuk.
American Eyecare staff began organizing this event in 2015 to honor the numerous staff members and patients that have been affected by cancer.
AEC Marketing Coordinator, Jordan Dziulko explains, ?We are very fortunate that the proximity of the University of Iowa?s Holden Cancer Center is relatively close, let alone, ranked among the top tier of cancer centers nationwide. We are pleased that our fundraising efforts will benefit individuals in each of our four business communities.?
The Breast Cancer Awareness project at American Eyecare consisted of a pink ribbon frame sale. For each frame sold with a pink ribbon attached, American Eyecare donated $10 to the Holden Cancer Center.
Proceeds from the event will be directed to Breast Cancer Research at the University of Iowa Foundation.
