Fairfield All Star Jazz Band will play worship service Dec. 29
First Presbyterian Church will present a special worship service featuring the Fairfield All Star Jazz Band at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 29.
The Rev. Joe Phipps, pastor of the church, invites the community to attend the enlightening and inspirational service. Phipps will mix scripture and an inspirational message, with special music performed by the 16-piece jazz ensemble.

The Rev. Joe Phipps, pastor of the church, invites the community to attend the enlightening and inspirational service. Phipps will mix scripture and an inspirational message, with special music performed by the 16-piece jazz ensemble.
Songs to be performed include: ?Away In a Manger,? ?Joy To the World,? Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,? ?O Come All Ye Faithful,? ?Angels We Have Heard On High,? ?O Holy Night? and other jazz arrangements of familiar Christmas carols.
Members of the Fairfield All Star Jazz Band performing for the service include: Jay Stookesbury, Ken Burns, Rodger Gillaspie, Kaeli Ferguson, Francis Thicke, Jeff Six, Arvin Bogaards, Benjamin Boender, Zach Reiter, Ken Burns, Mark McCabe, Gerry Runyon, Steve Swygard, Tim Nelson, Claudia Sloat and Ken Norton.
Following the service, Mary Phillips and women of the church will be serving lunch. Reservations are requested, but not required. Call the church office at 472-4315.
A freewill offering will be accepted. All proceeds from the lunch will go to the Ron Pril Scholarship Fund.
