The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the launch of its 2025 Small Business Season, a community-wide initiative celebrating the businesses that keep the local economy thriving. Running from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, this year’s campaign carries the powerful message: Every Purchase Has a Purpose.
“Every time you choose to shop or dine local, you’re buying more than a product or service. You’re investing in dreams, jobs, and the uniqueness of our community,” said Mendy McAdams, Chamber Director. “Small Business Season reminds us that local choices have a lasting impact. Together, we can help our neighbors and community thrive.”
Small Business Season encourages residents to explore neighborhood favorites, discover new local gems, and share their experiences to help others do the same. From boutique shopping and dining at family-owned restaurants to attending festive community events, this initiative highlights the role small businesses play in making Fairfield a vibrant and connected place to live.
“When you support local businesses, you’re helping fund our schools, youth programs, and community causes,” added McAdams. “Local spending builds momentum, powering the people, places, and possibilities that define our town.” Data shows that for every $100 spent at a local business, approximately $68 stays in the community, compared to only $43 at a national chain. That money supports local jobs, infrastructure, and essential services — creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone.
To bring the season to life, the Chamber will host a variety of activities, including a new Holiday Chamber Bucks Giveaway, designed to make shopping and supporting local fun and rewarding. This year, citizens will be invited to visit local participating businesses and collect a letter from each one. Solve the word or phrase and email or stop in the Chamber with the secret message to be entered to win Chamber Bucks. Watch for more information soon. We give away hundreds of dollars just in time for Holiday shopping!
The campaign also invites residents to share their favorite finds and tag local businesses on social media using #SmallBusinessSeason.
“Small businesses give our community its personality and pride,” commented McAdams. “They’re where memories are made. This season, let’s give back to the people who give our town so much.”
