The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce will bid farewell to our talented summer intern, Erin Epperson, at the end of August. Erin has become an essential part of our team during her time here, making a lasting impact on the way we serve our members and the Fairfield community.
Erin joined the Chamber earlier this summer while home from the University of Northern Iowa, where she is studying Choral Music Education with a minor in Communication-Theatre Teaching. A proud Fairfield High School graduate, Erin brought a strong background in communication, organization, and leadership — qualities that quickly became invaluable to our daily operations.
In just a few short months, Erin has:
· Taken ownership of one of our weekly e-newsletters
· Actively sought out member events to post on our website and include in communications
· Answered phones and greeted visitors with warmth and professionalism
· Supported numerous Chamber events, working behind the scenes to ensure success
Her contributions have improved efficiency, strengthened community connections, and created positive changes in the Chamber that will continue long after she returns to school.
“Erin’s work ethic, creativity, and attention to detail have made her indispensable,” said Mendy McAdams, Chamber Executive Director. “She has become so important to us that we’ve decided we will always keep this position going forward. Erin has grown her skill set, helped us improve operations, and made a meaningful difference.”
While we are sad to see her go, we are excited to watch Erin continue her journey at UNI, where her leadership and enthusiasm are sure to shine.
The Chamber is also pleased to announce that we will soon be welcoming a new high school intern to continue this important work. Stay tuned for an upcoming story introducing him.
