Fairfield Art Association to host annual art camp
Jul. 15, 2021 4:55 pm
The Fairfield Art Association has announced its annual Art Camp, with the theme of "Look Into Art," will be the week of Aug. 2-6.
Camp will be from from 9-11:30 a.m. each day that week in the FAA Studio in the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center for any children in 3-6th grade. An exhibit of all the camp's art work created will be on display that Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the FACC with a reception for the young artists.
The week will be filled with art projects that explore different material each day and led by talented local artists. The class will create an "Eye Glasses Summer Art Installation" to be placed on the Fairfield Square, make a Matisse painting using the power of the sun, build a sculpture, learn about "Paint Skins" and use them for mosaic painting or jewelry.
Blind embossing will be printed with FAA's printing press, and be used to create an art journal. Pastel Resist will be another project, as well as making original collage trading cards to exchange.
All materials are provided and the class is limited, so early registration is encouraged. There is a fee to participate. Entry forms are available at the FAA studio at the FACC. Email Suzan Kessel at suzan1252@aol for a form or to answer any questions.
