Sunnybrook Assisted Living is participating in its annual fundraiser for the Walk To End Alzheimer's in Ottumwa on Aug. 29. The walk won't be a big gathering this year like it has been in the past, so Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Fairfield is doing a small walk to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. Its walk date will be determined by the weather and the public health guidelines for gatherings.
Community businesses and individuals are paying money to have a flock of pink flamingoes in their yard to show their support for the Alzheimer's Association's continued research for a cure.
One of the businesses that has been 'flocked” is Jefferson County Health Center, which presented Sunnybrook marketing director Ginny Hughes with a check for $300.
