The Fairfield Education Foundation is pleased to announce the award of $50,297.14 in grants to teachers and staff of the Fairfield Community School District. These grants include a variety of items that support the education and extracurricular activities of the District. Awarded funds go to purchase items such as supplemental curriculum materials, shop tools, sensory items, and elementary musical instruments. The Foundation received 52 applications totaling $155,132.85 in requests, nearly four times the requests received in 2023. Some unique items the Foundation was honored to fund this year included: supplies to help start a school-based coffee shop that will teach students employability skills, while offering items for sale to high school teachers and students; refreshed furniture for the Pence Library and Pence staff room; and wireless microphones for the high school auditorium.
Organized in 1997, the Fairfield Education Foundation’s mission is to enhance learning opportunities, encourage creative and innovative educational programs, promote the utilization of current technologies, and encourage and increase community involvement in our schools. Teacher grants are considered annually during the fall trimester and are funded from the interest of the endowment funds. Additionally, the Foundation annually awards four graduating senior scholarships, including a renewable scholarship good for four years.
