Fairfield First Fridays celebrating summer
N/A
Jul. 18, 2019 1:48 pm
Join Fairfield First Fridays on Friday for a summer celebration in Central Park.
Purple Star Entertainment DJ Rustin Lippincott will play music from the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s and 2000s to celebrate the decades of summer from 6-10 p.m. Stop by the Fairfield First Fridays tent to dedicate a song to someone special for a donation. A limited number of songs per hour can be dedicated.
Also during the evening, Jefferson County Trails Council will announce the winner of the Scavenger Hunt, lawn games will be set up for friendly competition, and vendors and artists will have booths in Central Park.
Kids can play a game at the Fairfield First Fridays tent to win beach balls and pinwheels.
A new attraction in Central Park, weather permitting, is a photo booth set up with props and backdrops. The theme for the July photo booth is summer related.
Many stores, galleries and restaurants will be open for the evening, with activities and events as well.
Some of those venues are:
' Americus Gallery featuring Christopher Kufner's new show called 'The Muse” consisting of 18 paintings from his private collection. The gallery also will have a new show of recent paintings by artist Jim Weidle.
' Art FiftyTwo and ICON Gallery combining forces to show the work of Geoffrey Baker. Baker was professor of art at Maharishi University of Management from 1979 until his death in 2011.
' Crest Jewel has recent paintings by David Kupferman and Terrence Kennedy.
' Henderson's/Cindy's Art Beat opening a new exhibit Friday called 'The Watercolor Show.” Seven area artists will be showing a variety of watercolor paintings through September.
' Revelations featuring cello and keyboard music by Hannelore Stimson, and art by Peter Clemens and John Schirmer.
' SOMM Wines planning free wine tasting from 5-9 p.m.
' Stuff a Bear and More and Health and Wholeness will each have a carnival game for all ages. At both location, each person will have three chances to play a corn hole game. They can earn up to three tickets and be entered into that night's drawing for a prize. Stuff a Bear and More also will display abstract art by Dane Julian.
' Suite 4 Massage explaining how massage can be beneficial. Snacks, chair massages and samples of some of the treatments will be offered.
' The Local Fairfield featuring Chris Olson's collection entitled 'Into the Universe.”
