Fairfield First Fridays hosting ‘Blues in Central Park’

Fairfield First Fridays' 'Blues in Central Park” will be 6:30-10 p.m. Friday.
Van and the Movers will be performing from 6:30-10 p.m. in Central Park. Van and the Movers have been playing red-hot blues for more than 20 years. Their music is classic, danceable and fun.
A section of Central Park set up with lawn games for some friendly competition with your family and friends. The new photo booth will be set up with props for taking selfies, and local vendors, artists, local nonprofits and more will be set up.
Fairfield First Fridays will be celebrating 17 years. Stop in the First Fridays tent to say hello, learn more about upcoming events and grab a piece of cake to help celebrate.
Many galleries, shops and venues will be open on and around the square. A few are listed below:
' Americus Gallery featuring Christopher Kufner's show called 'The Muse” with of 18 paintings from his private collection. The gallery also is showing original oil paintings by Kim Kufner, original watercolor and ink paintings by Genevra Bell, art glass vases by David Lotton and diochroic glass jewelry by Pedro Lujano.
' Art FiftyTwo and ICON Gallery are combining forces to show the artwork of Geoffrey Baker. The unique two-gallery exhibition runs through Saturday, Aug. 10. Baker was professor of art at Maharishi University of Management from 1979 until he passed away in 2011. ICON Director Bill Teeple describes Baker's paintings as 'impressionistic dream art. The paintings celebrate memories of his childhood and stir childlike visions inside the viewer.”
' ICON Gallery is exhibiting the Geoffrey Baker Show in its main gallery. The Hudson Collection of Shiva Linga paintings will open on the ICON mezzanine with the 31 paintings that were exhibited in the prestigious Venice Biennale in 2013. The Hudson Collection was donated to ICON in 2018. Friday, Aug. 2 is the inauguration of the collection's new home on the ICON mezzanine. Over time, curators will show the collection off in different ways.
' Henderson's/Cindy's Art Beat will continue 'The Watercolor Show.” A group of seven area artists will be showing a variety of watercolor paintings through September.
' Stuff a Bear and More will display abstract art by Dane Julian. The store also will have a corn hole game. Players will be able to get up to three tickets and be entered into that night's drawing for a prize.
