?Mt. Pleasant was true to form and played well on their home course,? Fairfield coach Joe Kruzich said. ?They will be a hard team to beat this season.?
Madelyn Swan shot a 58, while Abby Adam (62), Olivia Hammel (65) and Taylor Marlay (66) each shot in the sixties
?I was happy, for the most part, with how our girls competed,? Kruzich said. ?A few mistakes here and there, but that is to be expected from the first meet of the year and still a very young team.?
Fairfield?s team score was 12 strokes better than last year?s average and the returning players each had lower scores than they did all of last season, which is a promising sign for the Trojans as the year continues.
