History buffs, would you like to share your favorite books with like-minded readers in an outdoor setting, with plenty of fresh air and social distancing? The Fairfield library's History Roundtable is a go-to place for connecting with others and exploring diverse perspectives whether your interest is in local, national, or international history. This month, the group will meet on Thursday, July 16, from 1:30-3:30 p.m at a local park.
The library is partnering with Fairfield Parks & Recreation during the closure to keep these lively discussions going. To register and learn the location, please call the library's front desk at 641-472-6551 ext. 2. Group size is limited to 12, to ensure that everyone can be heard in the time allotted.
Present whatever history book you are currently reading (even if you're in the middle of a book) and enjoy a spirited dialog. In a readers' circle, conversation inevitably covers the books presented plus other topics, so everyone walks away with inspiration for further reading. There is no charge for this program.
