Fairfield JV basketball teams hit court

Boys fall to Keokuk

KEOKUK ? The Trojan JV trio of Joe Hietpas, Vincent Horras and Matt Carr combined to score all but five of Fairfield?s points in a 51-39 loss to Keokuk on Tuesday.

Hietpas scored 14 points, Horras had 12 points along with 11 rebounds for a double-double, and Carr scored eight. Horras also blocked four shots, and both Carr and Hietpas had a team-high in assists with two apiece.

Also for Fairfield, Alex Shier scored three points, while Jordan Whitney and Kyle Weirup scored two each. Nathan Barker added two steals.

The Trojan JV team will be back on the court Tuesday against Eddyville-Blakesburg.

Girls win one of two

The Fairfield JV girls? basketball team won one of two games last week.

The Trojans lost to Keokuk 63-36 Tuesday. Madison Roberts had 10 points to pace the Trojans, followed by Marisa Repp and Erica Winslow with five points apiece.

In a 43-19 victory over Fort Madison Friday, McKenna Ledger led the Trojans with 16 points along with six boards. Repp added 10 points and seven boards.
