Fairfield library hosts How-To Tuesday
N/A
Aug. 22, 2019 9:33 am
The Fairfield Public Library will continue its How-To Tuesday events from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27.
This free month's event offers the opportunity to learn seven skills in one evening.
Arrive at 5:30 p.m. to have time to visit all seven of the demonstration stations set up around the library.
Upon entering, a volunteer will present participants with a 'passport” that lists every station. Visit the stations in any order, look-listen-learn, and a presenter will stamp the passport. Deliver the completed passport to the front desk, and it will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
Local volunteers have ben recruited to share these fun and practical skills:
' How to Travel with Pets with Dr. Bill Pollak of Fairfield Animal Hospital.
' How to Illustrate a Book with Judith Hans-Price, illustrator.
' How to Make Smoothies with Andy Soares of Andy's Juice Joint.
' How to Tell Your (Marketing) Story with Jeffrey Hedquist of Hedquist Productions.
' How to Grow Succulents with Jefferson County Master Gardeners Sharon Leazer and Gerri Lyon.
' How to Recycle Right with Chris Bettin from Waste Management.
' How to Learn a Foreign Language with the Fairfield Public Library staff.
The evening is a continuation of the educational How-To Tuesdays series launched in July. How-To events can open participants' eyes to a new world of interests and are a chance to soak up the library's D.I.Y. resources, and learn something new.
This event is free, and no registration is required.
