Fairfield Public Library will host its seventh Mad Science Day Monday evening.
?Don?t be alarmed if you hear any loud explosions and wild laughter at the Fairfield Public Library this Monday,? said Afton Hallauer, youth services librarian. ?Mad Science Day is back!?
Young patrons in kindergarten through sixth-grade and their families are invited to participate in free, hands-on experiments going on from 5:30-7:30 p.m. throughout the library.
Participants can build a working electrical circuit; learn about electromagnetic waves, clouds, the human brain, and more, said Hallauer.
The program is led by Jim Birkel of Mad Science of Iowa, and aims to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing an experience as fun as it is educational.
According to Mad Science of Iowa, hands-on experiments allow children to gain a better understanding of what science is all about and how it affects the world around them.
