The Fairfield Elks Lodge has announced its Fairfield Middle School Students of the Month for March.
Each school month, the Elks Lodge sponsors the ?Students of the Month? award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school. These positive contributions range from assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom. The certificates for Student of the Month are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade level teaching team.
Students recognized are fifth-graders Carin Corrick and Dakota Storto, sixth-graders Jenna Crile and Ben Anderson, seventh-graders Martin Jennings and Lindsey Repp, and eighth-graders Trevje Karugo and Chance Nicely.
According to Corrick?s certificate, ?Carin always has a positive attitude, and she is respectful to both peers and adults. She is a caring person that is always willing to work with others. As a student council member, she represents her class well. She faithfully attends meetings, makes posters, and leads by her good example.?
Storto?s certificate states he has become ?one of the top leaders in class. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to any of his peers. He always stays late and ensures the room is ready for the next day. Dakota is always one that can be counted on to do the right thing, no matter what the situation. His quiet yet confident mannerism makes him well respected among his peers and other staff. His willingness and drive to become the best student and person he can be makes Dakota the perfect choice for March student of the month.?
Crile was chosen because she is a ?very positive person and uses a strong work ethic to excel in the classroom. She also provides a strong leadership for her classmates and is very creative and provides positive input in classroom discussions. Jenna maintains excellent work in the classroom while also spending a lot of time participating in extracurricular activities, such as the FMS dance team and recently attending the Young Writer?s Conference.?
According to Anderson?s certificate, he is a ?quiet, hard-working, reliable student, who shows an eagerness to learn in the classroom. He is always there to lend a helping hand to classmates in need. He makes a concerted effort to get his work in on time and always tries his best.?
The seventh-grade team chose Jennings because he is a ?fun-loving kid who seems to enjoy everything he does. He has an infectious sense of humor and does an outstanding job in the classroom. Martin works hard and is a great asset to any learning group. He works well with any level of learner and is especially patient with special needs students. Martin is a creative thinker and frequently looks ?outside the box.??
Repp was selected because she is an ?enthusiastic, hard-working student. She takes her work as a student seriously and always strives to do her best. Lindsey is a positive person and gets along well with others. This allows her to perform extremely well when involved in individual and group work situations. Lindsey is a great addition to any classroom and we are proud to announce her as seventh-grade student of the month.?
Karugo?s certificate states she ?takes her work seriously, but also has a great sense of humor. She is helpful and kind to other students. Trevje has never let adversity keep her from success. Snags that would cause less conscientious students to beg for more time simply made Trevje even more determined to succeed. That determination and work ethic is what will guarantee Trevje is successful in whatever endeavors she puts her mind to.?
According to Nicely?s certificate, he is a ?very mature, responsible, dependable and friendly young man. Chance gets along well with his classmates and teachers. He is willing to put extra effort into his classroom projects, even going so far as to learn Pi to the 100th decimal position! Chance is honest and helpful. He will go out of his way to help a fellow student in the hallway or classroom. He always seems to have a smile on his face. Chance models the Trojan P.R.I.D.E. concept each and every day in and outside of our building. Chance currently represents FMS well, and we expect this trend to continue in the future as he moves on to FHS.?
