The Fairfield Elks Lodge has announced its Fairfield Middle School Students of the Month for April.
Each school month, the Elks Lodge sponsors the ?Students of the Month? award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school. These positive contributions range from assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom. The certificates for Student of the Month are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade level teaching team.
Students recognized in April are fifth-graders Joli Swan and John Sanderson, sixth-graders Shannon Morrissey and Charles Heisel, seventh-graders Natalie Jones and Isaac Rock, and eighth-graders Alex Koffman and Madison Aplara.
According to Swan?s certificate, she is a ?conscientious student who is prepared for class and completes her assignments on time. Joli works very well with other students. She is eager to help at any opportunity. Her great work ethic and fun personality make her a pleasure to have in class.?
Sanderson?s certificate states he?s ?a friendly boy who works and plays well with others. He does high quality independent class work and shows a willingness to be a helpful partner in paired or group projects.?
Morrissey was selected because she is a ?very dedicated student who strives to do her best at all times. She works extremely well with others and has a positive attitude towards learning and sharing with others. Shannon?s leadership in the classroom is greatly appreciated by her teachers.?
According to Heisel?s certificate, he ?works well with others and has a positive attitude towards learning. Charles? willingness to share his background knowledge daily with his peers and teachers is appreciated by all.?
Jones was chosen because she ?leads by example in the classroom by showing a positive attitude towards school and her peers. She works well with other students and takes pride in her work. Her teachers appreciate Natalie?s hard work and positive attitude.?
Rock?s certificate states, ?Isaac is a fun-loving kid who does a great job in class. His sense of humor is a bright spot in the classroom along with his positive attitude every day. Isaac works very hard and does an awesome job working in groups to make sure that everyone participates and belongs. Isaac is a great student to have in the classroom.?
The eighth-grade team chose Koffman because he?s a ?very motivated young man who strives to do his best at everything he does. He is easy to recognize with his well-known smile and hello each day. He treats everyone with the same positive, upbeat attitude every day. It is a great joy to have Alex included into our classrooms and for him to show that nothing is impossible.?
According to Aplara?s certificate, ?Madison consistently comes prepared to class and completes her work on time and to the best of her ability. Madison is respectful towards her teachers and peers and will often step up to let her classmates know when they are not being respectful. Madison is honest, responsible and dependable. If she says she is going to do something, it will be done. Madison takes pride in our building and is a true role model to our younger students.?
