Fairfield Public Library will show a free film on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019.
This 2019 American superhero film is based on a comic book character.
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. Courtesy of an ancient wizard, a street-wise 14-year-old foster kid simply has to shout out one word - then he turns into a grown-up superhero.
The teenager still is a kid at heart - inside a ripped, godlike-body. So he revels in the adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them. Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies tests? The new superhero sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by an embittered outcast.
The movie rating is PG-13. Runtime is two hours and 15 minutes.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and movie starts at 7:30 p.m.
Organic popcorn will be available for donations. The donations are used to help the library renew its movie license.
The library's movie license does not allow it to advertise the titles of the movies it is showing, but detailed information is available on the Fairfield Public Library's calendar on the website www2.youseemore.com/fairfield.
