Fairfield schools start Operation Backpack

Tara Johnson, a secretary in the Fairfield High School, is starting Operation Backpack 2012 to help supply backpacks and school supplies to students in need.
?This is a brand new event that I hope to hold annually for all students in the Fairfield Community School District,? said Johnson.
Donations can be dropped off at Fairfield High School until Tuesday.
The backpacks and supplies will be distributed to the schools for students in need prior to the first day of school Wednesday.
?Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated,? said Johnson.
She listed needs as:
? Fairfield High School students: No. 2 pencils, blue or black ink pens, spiral notebooks and folders.
? For Fairfield Middle School students: No. 2 pencils, blue or black ink pens, spiral notebooks, folders, Crayola crayons, Elmer?s glue, glue sticks, ruler, pencil pouch, plastic pencil box.
? For Fairfield elementary school students: No. 2 pencils, crayons, glue sticks, pencil box, one pair of scissors, erasers, Expo markers, folders, Kleenex, Clorox wipes or Germ-X.
