Fairfield volleyball teams host triangular
Wins were plentiful for the Fairfield JV and freshman volleyball teams at their shared home triangular Thursday.
The two teams combined to win six games and three matches against Eddyville-Blakesburg and Holy Trinity.
Fairfield?s JV squad opened the evening with a 25-15, 25-9 victory over Eddyville. They then fell to Holy Trinity in match two by scores of 25-23 and 25-18.

Wins were plentiful for the Fairfield JV and freshman volleyball teams at their shared home triangular Thursday.
The two teams combined to win six games and three matches against Eddyville-Blakesburg and Holy Trinity.
Fairfield?s JV squad opened the evening with a 25-15, 25-9 victory over Eddyville. They then fell to Holy Trinity in match two by scores of 25-23 and 25-18.
McKenna Ledger tallied six blocks, five kills and 11 digs to lead the Trojans. The junior also was a perfect 25-for-25 on serves, with three of them going for aces.
Karley Williams finished the two matches with nine kills, 13 digs and two blocks, while Valerie Payne dug up 10 balls. Seaira Drish had four aces and 13 assists; Jolea Burkhart recorded four aces of her own along with 11 digs; and Keri Schwarz slammed down five kills plus one block. Madison Roberts added five kills and Erica Winslow contributed with seven assists.
For the freshmen, the Trojans made quick work of the Rockets en route to a 25-16, 25-16 win. They then pulled out a come-from-behind victory against Holy Trinity, dropping the first set 25-23 but rallying for 25-17 and 12-1 victories in games two and three.
Mackenzi Harwood put down a team-high 11 kills, blasted five aces on 13-for-14 serving, and she had 17 digs to go with one block. Kelsey Roberts was 18-for-20 from behind the service line with a team-high 10 ace serves, and she tallied 19 assists, 12 digs and six kills for good measure. Mackenzie Flattery totaled 24 digs and was 10-for-15 on serve receive. Delaney Neil recorded three blocks and eight kills; Alli Deao slammed down nine kills to go with 14 digs and four aces; and Emma Kuehl fed the offense with 13 assists. Molly Ryan tacked on three kills for the Trojans.
The Trojan JV squad returns to the court Saturday at the Johnston Invite. The freshmen, meanwhile, have time off before hosting Fort Madison Tuesday.
