?Laughter is the best medicine? is a common saying, but Fairfield?s new Laughter Yoga Club hopes to take that idea a step further.
The club, which practices laughter yoga, will meet for the first time at 7:15-8 p.m. today in Morning Star Studio.
Laughter yoga, a stress-reducing workshop, combines traditional yoga breathing with prolonged laughter. It has spread to more than 80 countries in 15 years.
The yoga form doesn?t use humor to generate laughter. Instead, laughter is approached as a body exercise, and participants perform a combination of yogic breathing and laughter exercises during the sessions.
Entry into the class is by donation, from $2-$5.
