The Washington Betterment Foundation gave a donation to the Washington County Fair Association for their Northside Restroom Project. The $25,000 donation will go toward construction costs of the fair’s new restroom facility, which had just been completed hours before kicking off the Washington County Fair on July 12th. Fair board representatives say they had very, very good comments about the upgrade from fairgoers during and after the fair. Only a few things are left to be completed — mirrors, door openers/stops, fans, and support bars. Another major project for next spring after the building cures will be the addition of three murals to the building.
Betterment Foundation member Janelle Johnson said, “The new restrooms were a great addition to the fairgrounds. The Betterment Foundation is very excited for the murals to really make it come to life!”
The Washington Betterment Foundation was inspired by long time community benefactor, Bill Sitler, to encourage and financially support projects which physically improve, beautify and enhance Washington. It is a means for individuals, groups, and corporations to make tax deductible gifts worthwhile community betterment projects.
