Family Connection offers early childhood parent education

The Family Connection of Washington County is looking for families in Washington County. The Family Connection, formerly known as Parents as Teachers, is an early childhood parent education and family support program designed to serve families from the time they learn they are expecting until their child is 4 years old. This fun and educational program is available to all families in Washington County and is free of charge!

The mission of The Family Connection is to provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

When you enroll in The Family Connection, you will be paired with a trained parent educator who will visit with you in your home at times that are convenient for you. Your parent educator will bring information and activity ideas that parents can use both during and between visits to promote healthy attachment and age-appropriate development. Visits include a time for parents to ask questions about their child?s development, and to discuss changes they have observed.

The Family Connection also offers weekly play groups! Play group meets on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the nursery room at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington. All families with children under the age of 4 are welcome to attend!

Families may also be eligible to enroll in our Parents Place program which provides diapers and baby wipes at no cost!
