Fee payment day set Aug. 5 for Fairfield school district

The Fairfield Community School District is gearing up for the 2019-20 school year, with students returning to class Friday, Aug. 23.
Officials said if a student is new to the district, parents should contact the Administration/Curriculum/Technology Center at 472-2655 to make sure proper paperwork is completed.
The officials also asked that the parents of any student not returning to the district this fall, to contact the A/C/T Center.
The fee payment packets were mailed to families in July.
The fees can be paid online at www.fairfieldsfuture.org, in person at the A/C/T Center or mailed to the A/C/T Center, along with competed forms printed from the website, at 403 S. 20th St., Fairfield 52556.
Fees for all kindergartners through seniors also can be paid at the districtwide fee payment day set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 in the Fairfield Middle School Commons.
The fees, approved by the Fairfield Community School District Board of Directors in May. Superintendent Laurie Noll pointed out the only changes to the fee schedule is an increase in lunch fees: elementary lunch is being raised 10 cents to $2.65; and fifth- through 12th-grade lunch is being raised 10 cents to $2.80.
All other fees remain the same:
Breakfast is $1.75 for all students.
A milk ticket is $8 for a 20-count ticket for elementary school. Extra milk at the middle school and high school is 40 cents.
Book rental is $45 for kindergarten through fourth-grade; $50 for middle school; and $60 for high school.
Instrumental music is $10 for sixth- through eighth-grades and $15 for ninth- through 12th-grades. The maximum a family will pay is $25.
Activity tickets are $25 for a sixth- through eighth-grade middle school student, $35 for a high school student, $130 for a family all season, $65 for an adult, and $20 for a senior age 62 or older.
Preschool fees, collected at the A/C/T Center, are $70 a month.
Anyone who needs financial assistance can fill out the Iowa Eligibility Application form in the districtwide fee payment packet or pick up a form at the A/C/T Center. The forms cannot be processed before Thursday, Aug. 1. For information, contact Stephanie Hawkins at 472-2655, Ext. 6703.
Parents with transportation arrangements, requests or changes can contact Mark Branch or Teresa Kite in the auxiliary services department at 472-5252.
Students who want to park on the Fairfield High School grounds will need to contact the high school office after fee payment day to fill out forms and pay parking fees. The fee is non-refundable.
Open houses and orientations are planned for students. The Washington Elementary School open house will be 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. Pence Elementary School open house will be 5-6:30 p.m. The Fairfield Middle School open house is set for 5-6:30 p.m. At Fairfield High School, freshman orientation will be 6:30-7:30 p.m., followed by the high school welcome back ice cream social at 7:30 p.m.
The first day of school will be Friday, Aug. 23, with normal school hours at each building.
