Feeding the birds program presented
Linn County Master Gardener Deb Walser presented a program, ?Feeding the Birds,? at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Washington County Extension Office.

Walser shared photos of many varieties of birds and also slides on which seed and what cover plants and bushes are helpful for them to survive. She noted that unless you have plants that have some kind of disease, you need to leave the dead plants in your gardens for the birds to use for cover and also for food in the winter.
The Winter Gardening Fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. More information will be coming soon.
