Fairfield High School alumna of the Class of 2018 Cami Schaefer (now a sophomore at the University of Missouri) paints the face of Valerie Kessel Friday, Nov. 29, during the Festival of Trees at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. The event was a fundraiser for Little Superheroes, an organization that helps families with medical emergencies. The organization was started by Christie and Alex Kessel in 2015 after their daughter Valerie had gone through a medical emergency the year before when she was born with a rare condition preventing her intestines from working properly.
