FFA alumni meeting to be held

The Washington High School agriculture education department will be holding a Washington FFA Alumni meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the high school agriculture classroom.

The Iowa FFA Alumni and local alumni affiliates play a very important part in keeping agricultural education programs active and successful in our local schools. The mission statement of the Iowa FFA Alumni is to secure the promise of FFA and agricultural education by creating an environment where people and communities can develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.

Membership in the FFA Alumni association is for adults who desire to enrich local, state, or national FFA programs and activities through the donation of time and expertise. Individuals who wish to join an FFA alumni chapter are not required to have been past FFA members. Any adult with an interest in helping FFA members succeed in FFA activities, award programs, and leadership conferences is welcome to join their local affiliate.

At the alumni meeting on the 18th, we will discuss our local FFA Alumni affiliate and how it is organized, upcoming opportunities to support our FFA members, and future activities for Washington FFA Alumni. Please feel free to invite any community members who you feel would be interested in joining our affiliate.
