FHS speech team advancing

The Fairfield High School Speech team members participated in the Iowa High School Speech Association?s District Large Group Contest Saturday at Keokuk.

Out of 19 entries, 15 earned Division I ratings and four earned Division II ratings.

Those receiving Division I ratings will advance to the state competition on Feb. 4 at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids.

All 19 of the team?s performances can be seen at Fairfield High School?s Nights of Theatre on at 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 p.m. Jan. 31 in the FHS Auditorium.

These performances, which help the team practice for the state competition, are free of charge, but donations will be accepted to support the FHS speech team.

The whole community is welcome to attend.
