Fairfield Fire Department responded at 1:06 p.m. Wednesday to a grass fire reported at 2151 185th St. Two acres of set aside land burned; ashes blown by the wind from a fire pit into the grass probably started the fire. Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and returned to the station at 1:50 p.m.

Fairfield Fire Department responded at 1:06 p.m. Wednesday to a grass fire reported at 2151 185th St. Two acres of set aside land burned; ashes blown by the wind from a fire pit into the grass probably started the fire. Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and returned to the station at 1:50 p.m.
Firefighters responded at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday to a structure fire, a mobile home, at 405 S. 14th St. It was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The origin of the fire is under investigation. The home was a total loss. Firefighters returned to the station at 1:13 a.m. Thursday.
