The Fairfield Fire Department was called to a grass fire at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at 1608 Moss Ave. Seven firefighters used water to extinguish hay bales on fire. Two acres and 10 round hay bales burned, owned by Doug Stewart. The loss was estimated at $400. The cause of the fire was determined to be a campfire not properly extinguished.

Firefighters responded to a vehicle accident at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters cleaned up the road with oil-dry on Highway 1 North at Airport Road.
