Fire hydrants to be flushed next week

The City of Washington Maintenance and Construction Department plans to flush fire hydrants beginning the week of May 6.
The city will be flushing only half of the town's 400+ fire hydrants. The process may take up to eight working days, as the flow, PSI and GMP will be checked on each hydrant.
Residents may experience loss of water, rusty or discolored water, etc. Questions may be directed to the Maintenance and Construction Department at 319-653-2947.
