First Baptist Church will be canvassing the community to gather food and other items for The Lord?s Cupboard from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 29.
Donors should make sure food donations have not expired.
The Lord?s Cupboard of Jefferson County serves as the county?s sole emergency food pantry.
The pantry serves about 500 families per month. More than one-third of those served are under the age of 18.
The Lord?s Cupboard accepts cash and nonperishable food donations from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and credit card donations can be made online at www.LordsCupboard.org any time.
