First United Methodist welcomes new pastor
DES MOINES ? Iowa Bishop Julius C. Trimble has announced the appointment of Medea Saunders as pastor for First United Methodist Church, effective July 1.
Saunders received a bachelor?s degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb., and a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.

DES MOINES ? Iowa Bishop Julius C. Trimble has announced the appointment of Medea Saunders as pastor for First United Methodist Church, effective July 1.
Saunders received a bachelor?s degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb., and a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
Saunders began service to the United Methodist Church in 1999. Her special interests and ministerial gifts include: preaching, singing, leadership, roles of women in the church, diabetes advocacy, higher education ministries and nature.
She is married to Scott Saunders and they have two children: Ben and Aenea.
