Pat Stout was hostess to Fleur de Lis Club members on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at 1:30 p.m in her home.
Marie Hora, vice-president, conducted a short business meeting. Roll call was answered with members telling how long they had lived in their house and what was stored in their attic. Minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer?s report were read by Secretary-Treasurer Linda Birney. A collection was taken up for the group's Christmas donation to be directed to a local organization. Following discussion, members voted to take $20 from their treasury to add to our collected funds to HACAP.
Members were invited to bring an attic treasure to share. Treasures ranged from a hatbox with hats, fur muffs, a scrapbook with early postcards and valentines, a decorative pitcher, a tiny goose figurine, old shoes, roller skates, etc., to name a few. Pat Stout then shared items from her attic that she will be giving as Christmas gifts to family members. (shh ? sorry no more details!) An interesting array of ?attic treasures? brought back many memories to members.
A relaxing afternoon was spent around the dining room table with a festive pumpkin dessert served by the hostess.
The next meeting will be Dec. 11, at 12:30 p.m. with Linda Birney as hostess for the annual salad luncheon. Members should bring a salad, and table service will be provided.
