Fleur-De-Lis Club meet for last time before March 2019

Linda Birney was hostess of Fleur-de-Lis Club on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. for their annual salad luncheon.

Following the blessing given by the hostess, members helped themselves to ham balls/ham, tasty salads, dessert and a variety of finger foods and sat around the holiday decorated dining room table.

After the luncheon, a short business meeting was held and led by President Nancy Kimmel. Roll call was answered with members telling of their favorite Christmas food. The secretary-treasurer, Linda Birney, read minutes from the November meeting and gave the Treasurer report. There were no bills presented and no correspondence. Christmas cards were signed and will be sent to Shirley Whisler and Duane Krotz.

Following the meeting, members selected wrapped gifts from the hostess basket. ‘Twas the Night before Christmas and the Christmas Nativity Story left-right versions were read as the wrapped gifts were passed among the participants according to what was read. At the end of the readings, each member opened their gifts to take home. Nancy‘s Country Cooking Cookbook, by member, Nancy Kimmel, published in 1993 was viewed and certain recipes were copied by some members who did not have the cookbook. She had 500 published, but they are no longer available. The remainder of the afternoon was spent visiting around the dining room table before departing for home.

The club will not meet during the months of January and February 2019. The next meeting scheduled will be March 28, 2019, as a Husband's/Guest night out with Kathy Ebert serving as hostess.
