FMS football and volleyball play tough Tuesday

The Fairfield seventh grade volleyball team was at home playing against Keokuk Tuesday.
The A team defeated Keokuk 21-11, 17-21, 15-11.

The B team split its games, winning the first 21-6 and losing the second 16-21. The C team won both its matches with Laurel Hilger Rhylie Lisk leading the day. The D team lost both matches but fought hard to come back from behind.
The eighth grade team traveled to Keokuk to compete on Tuesday.
The A team won 13-21, 21-11, 15-2. Ashtyn Drish and Kristin Burnstedt led the team in serving. Kristen Daughterty had two kills.
The B team won 22-20, 21-13. Amiah Neff had 10 serves and Megan Davisson recorded two kills.
The C and D team split playing the third match, but each team won the set they played.
Football
The eighth grade football team played Tuesday in Ottumwa.
The A team lost 40-6 and the B team lost 36-0. Steeler Higdon led the team in tackles with nine. Hunter Hoskins returned a kick for a 75-yard touchdown.
The seventh grade team beat Ottumwa at home Tuesday. The A team won 49-8 and the B team won 30-18. Hakim Blakeney rushed for 67 yards and scored two touchdowns. Tristan Waugh caught a 46-yard touchdown pass. Cooper Drish caught two interceptions.
