FMS honors Students of the Month
Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School Students of the Month award to acknowledge positive contributions of students, from assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model.
The Students of the Month certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade-level teaching team.

Fifth-graders honored
Ethan McReynolds was selected as a fifth-grade Student of the Month for May. His certificate states: ?Ethan is an extremely hard worker. He always gives his best and wants to go above and beyond.Ethan is highly reflective and always wants to improve on what he has done. He is kind and respectful to his peers and adults. I can count on him to do his job, even when I?m not around.?
Mara Terrel was named a fifth-grade Student of the Month for May. Her certificate states: ?Mara is kind and helpful to everyone in the classroom. She sets an example of excellence in behavior and cooperation. She strives to reach her full potential always wanting to add more to her projects. She is committed to doing her best in all areas of learning. Mara is a valued member of our class.?
Jazmine Sanchez-Meza was chosen as a fifth-grade Student of the Month for May. Her certificate states: ?Jazmine is a steadfast example of Trojan PRIDE. Her precision for details helps keep our classroom clean and safe. She has been a dependable and fair group leader who asks questions before reaching a conclusion. Jazmine?s PRIDE will be a guiding force as she works towards her goals.?
Gabe Goodwin was selected as a fifth-grade Student of the Month for May. His certificate states: ?Gabe is a very enthusiastic learner. He does a great job of participating in class, and he always wants to share new things that he has learned. Gabe puts good effort into his work and always has his assignments completed and turned in on time. Gabe can be counted on to be ready to learn and he shows respect to others.?
Sixth-graders recognized
The FMS sixth-grade team chose Addison Pohren as a Student of the Month for May. Her certificate states: ?Addison brings a positive attitude, and a willingness to help others. She is a dependable student and her teachers appreciate her work ethic. Addison shows her Trojan PRIDE by being prepared for class each day, and working hard to do her best.?
The sixth-grade team also chose Liam Wells as a Student of the Month for May. His certificate states, ?Liam is a creative, observant student who participates well in group work and in class projects. He completes assignments on time and approaches tasks with a positive attitude. These qualities will serve Liam well in middle school and beyond.?
Seventh-graders selected
The FMS seventh-grade team announced Chloe Campbell as a seventh-grade Student of the Month for May. Her certificate states, ?Chloe is very respectful in her approach to academics and life. She is a dependable young lady, who works very hard to get schoolwork done well. As Chloe progresses through life, these attributes will help take her places!?
The seventh-grade team also announced Tyson Newcomer as a Student of the Month for May. His certificate states: ?Tyson is a hard working student, who is very conscientious. He monitors his work and always makes sure that he follows through on his responsibilities. We, as a team, can rely on Tyson to do his best in all situations.?
Eighth-graders named
Danielle Elliott was selected as an eighth-grade Student of the Month for May. Her certificate states: ?Danielle is a student who knows how to quietly go about doing the right thing. She is always willing to help out her classmates and wants to help others succeed as well. Danielle knows how to get the most out of her time in class, but is willing to put in outside time if necessary.?
Brian Parcell was selected as an eighth-grade Student of the Month for May. His certifictae states he ? is a student that has taken responsibility for his own learning. He is willing to ask questions and puts the extra effort in to complete assignments on time and to the best of his ability.
