FMS students of month honored

Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School ?Students of the Month? award to acknowledge positive contributions, like assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom.

The Students of the Month certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade-level teaching team.

Skylar Halley has been chosen as a February Student of the Month for fifth-grade. His certificate states, ?He puts forth a lot of effort with his schoolwork. He is very motivated, enjoys school and does work to the best of his ability. He participates in class discussions and has good leadership qualities within group settings. When gone from class, Skylar works extremely hard to get himself caught back up. It is evident that Skylar loves education and will succeed in the future.?

Michelle Zhang has been selected as a February Student of the Month for fifth-grade. Her certificate states, ?Michelle is a hard worker and always goes the extra mile to extend her learning. She checks over her work and makes sure that it is quality work before she hands it in. In addition to these great academic qualities, she is kind and helpful to her peers. Michelle is a great example of Trojan PRIDE.?

Jonah Cooper was selected as a sixth-grade Student of the Month for February. His certificate states, ?Jonah comes to class prepared to work every single day and is willing to help other students. He participates in class discussions consistently and shows Trojan PRIDE daily.?

Destiny Gridley was selected as a sixth-grade Student of the Month for February. Her certificate states, ?She is prepared every day and is extremely dependable on getting work done on time. Destiny displays a great work ethic and attitude, striving to do her best at all times.?

Samara Roemen was chosen as a seventh-grade Student of the Month for February. Her certificate states, ?She consistently comes to class prepared to learn. Samara works hard in and out of class, and is able to keenly focus on the task at hand. She is willing to ask questions to clarify her understanding.?

Logan Fuller has been named a seventh-grade Student of the Month for February. His certificate states, ?Logan is perpetually in a good mood, and that positivity spreads to everyone around him. Logan shows Trojan PRIDE, as he is always treating others with respect. He works very hard, is willing to try new things, and doesn?t shy away from a challenge.?

Nicole Buch was selected as an eight-grade Student of the Month for February. Her certificate states, ?Active in nearly every sport, Nicole has overcome obstacles and still managed to stay on top of her game ? both figuratively and literally. Dependable on the playing field and in the classroom, Nicole can always be relied on to have assignments done and to put forth her best effort in everything she does ­? and do it with a smile.?

Tycen Jordan was selected as an eighth-grade Student of the Month. His certificate states, ?He comes to class prepared and willing to do his best at whatever is asked of him. He is respectful toward his teachers and his classmates. He is honest, trustworthy and can be counted on to do the right thing even in difficult situations. Tycen can be depended on to complete assignments on time and to do whatever his partner or teammates may need him to do to help make them successful.?
