FMS Trojan PRIDE honorees recognized at assembly
Each school year, grade-level teachers at Fairfield Middle School are asked to nominate students who consistently display Trojan PRIDE in and out of the classroom.
Trojan PRIDE stands for: Prepared to learn; Respectful to self and others; Integrity in our actions; Dependable; Environmentally aware and safe.
These students were selected by their teachers and recognized at the end-of-year assembly June 6 at FMS.

Each school year, grade-level teachers at Fairfield Middle School are asked to nominate students who consistently display Trojan PRIDE in and out of the classroom.
Trojan PRIDE stands for: Prepared to learn; Respectful to self and others; Integrity in our actions; Dependable; Environmentally aware and safe.
These students were selected by their teachers and recognized at the end-of-year assembly June 6 at FMS.
Fifth-grade students
Fifth-grader Ellie Stever was honored. Her certificate states: she ?has done an outstanding job as a 5th grader at the FMS this year. She does an amazing job following Trojan PRIDE throughout each and every day in the classroom and out. She has a strong work ethic and strives to do well at anything she needs to do. It is extremely evident that Ellie will go far with her education in life to be successful at whatever path she chooses.?
Fifth-grader Ryan Higgins was honored. His certificate states: ?Ryan is a great example of Trojan PRIDE. He is always polite and respectful. He makes sure he uses integrity in all situations. He is a great role model for others. He does a good job of taking on leadership roles in the classroom and in social situations. Ryan can be counted on to be responsible, and he is a hard worker.?
Fifth-grader Chayse Gilchrist was honored. Her certificate states, ?Chayse has shown what hard work and dedication can do in school. She has improved academically all year long. She knows the value of studying and the rewards it brings. She has a great attitude that helps keep our classroom environment flexible and encouraging. She is also the first one to cheer on a classmate or friend. Chayse is great to work with because she shows kindness and respect to everyone.?
Fifth-grader Troy Thomas was honored. His certificate states, ?Troy is kind and considerate to his classmate and others. He is helpful and willing to work hard. He always has a smile on his face!?
Fifth-grader Kate Pettit also was honored. Her certificate states, ?Kate has been a model of PRIDE all year. Prepared for class and always on time, she is also a trustworthy individual. She is respectful of all people and things and a true friend to those lucky enough to know her.?
Sixth-grade students
The sixth-grade team selectedSantiago Garcia for the Trojan PRIDE award. His certificte states, ?Santiago consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He strives to do his best in all subject areas. Santiago always has a smile on his face and brightens up the classroom with his positive attitude. He has been a great addition to our district and we all enjoy his presence each and every day!?
Sixth-grader Hannah Bergren was honored. Her certificate states: ?Hannah always has a smile on her face and is eager to do whatever is expected of her. Hannah is a leader in the classroom and is a fabulous role model for all other students.She brightens up a classroom and takes pride in her class work. Her positive attitude is infectious!?
Sixth-grader Spencer Hilger?s certificate states he ?has shown everyday through his actions what a great Trojan is. He has constantly given all his effort in everything that has been asked of him. Spencer strives to become better every minute of every class. He has exemplified the meaning of being a great student who is passionate about learning. More importantly Spencer?s attitude towards learning reflects what honor, respect, and hard work will do for you and those around you.?
Sixth-grader Mallory Lyon ?is an example of what Trojan PRIDE is all about. She takes pride in her work and goes above and beyond in the classroom, all with a smile. She is always prepared for class. She is responsible. She has integrity. She is dependable. She is the definition Trojan PRIDE. We appreciate your hard work and positive attitude!?
Seventh-grade students
Seventh-grader Addison Pohren was selected for the honor. Her certificate states: ?Addison is a very positive person and has a great attitude. She is respectful and kind and she gets along well with others. She is very responsible and takes pride in her work. She always tries her hardest and can be counted on to do what?s right.
Seventh-grader Alison Reid?s certificate states: ?Alison is a very kind young woman who goes out of her way to be nice to everyone. She always shows empathy for others and does a terrific job working in groups. She takes responsibility for her own learning. Alison has a tremendous amount of integrity.?
Seventh-grader Payton Cline?s certificate states: ?Payton exemplifies Trojan PRIDE. He has a positive attitude. He works hard and is a very conscientious learner. He asks good questions and really wants to understand things. He is always prepared to learn and he can always be counted on to do the right thing. He sets a good example for his classmates to follow. When something is difficult Payton never gives up, he just works harder to be successful.?
Seventh-grader Blair Grunwald?s certificate states: ?Blair takes his work very seriously and he always puts forth full effort. He is a good advocate for himself. He also has a wonderful attitude and helps set a positive tone in class. He is a strong individual who has a strong sense of self. We can always count on Blair to do the right thing.?
Eighth-grade students
Eighth-grader Emily McAvan was selected for the honor. Her certificate states: ?We have never seen this girl act in any way except kind. Helpful to all, cheerful, hard-working, this young lady is an asset to every class. Respectful and honest, she is someone who can be counted on no matter what. With her positive attitude, hard work, and friendly demeanor, we know she will always do well.?
Megan Higgins?s certificate states: ??Good, better, best, never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best!? We suspect this might be a good slogan for this recipient of the Trojan PRIDE award. Why settle for 100% if you can give 150? Or 150 if you can give 200? Megan Higgins is not one to settle for less than her best in anything she does. We would have a hard time coming up with a student MORE deserving of this award.?
Eighth-grader Dallas Carlson also is a winner of the second semester Trojan PRIDE award. His certificate states: ?Dallas goes above and beyond assignment expectations. Quick with a smile, he is a joy to have in class and truly exhibits those traits that we look for in a Trojan PRIDE recipient. A hard worker who put serious effort towards everything he does, Dallas is a role model for middle school students in and out of the classroom. His curious mind and advanced intellect has won the respect of his classmates and his teachers. Dallas is the kind of student who is self-motivated and a self-starter.?
Eight-grader Michael Holt?s certificate states he is a student who has demonstrated Trojan PRIDE each and every day of his eighth-grade career. ?Michael is a self-motivated student with a strong work ethic. He is dedicated to his academic performance yet he is very involved in many different extracurricular activities. Michael displays the highest integrity and is personally accountable for his own learning. Michael is dependable, respectful, and always has a positive attitude.?
