Free Earth Day celebration Saturday
Southeast Iowa Sierra Club and the Sustainable Living Coalition invite the public to a free and friendly Earth Day celebration, on Sunday, April 22, from 1-4 p.m. at the newly renovated Eco Barn. Southeast Iowa Sierra Club and the Sustainable Living Coalition invite the public to a free and friendly Earth Day celebration, on Sunday, April 22, from 1-4 p.m. at the newly renovated Eco Barn. Location is just south of the Abundance EcoVillage, at 2143 185th Street, Fairfield. Activities for all members of the family include: children?s outdoor games, a spring gardening workshop, a butterfly workshop (with a limited number of free milkweed seedlings), workshop for international quilt project, walking, and guided tours of the EcoVillage.
Everyone is invited to this earth day party. There will be ongoing live music and vendors selling plants and earth-friendly products. Schedule:
1: Opening ? music, vendors, displays
2-3: Children?s outdoor fun, including Magic Trail walk at 3 p.m.
2-4: Quilts that Unite Us ? workshop, drawing and painting squares
2:15 and 3:15: Spring gardening workshops
2:45: Monarch butterfly presentation and information
2:15 and 3:15: EcoVillage tours
