The Mt. Pleasant freshman boys opened their season on Thursday night with a dominant, 57-17 win over Central Lee at home.

The Mt. Pleasant freshman boys opened their season on Thursday night with a dominant, 57-17 win over Central Lee at home.
The Panthers took a 9-5 lead into the second quarter, where they broke the game open before halftime, outscoring the Hawks, 21-2 in the period to go into halftime with a 30-7 lead.
In the second half, the Panthers continued to poor it on, outscoring the Hawks 16-5 in the third quarter, and 11-5 in the fourth, to start the season off with a 40-point win.
Riley McQuiggin led the Panthers with 16 points on the night. Rhett Zeglen had 14, Levi Puig had six, and Chase Lamm had four. Jacob Stukerjurgen and Tucker Johnson each scored three points, and Cody Mertens, Sam Beatty and Brady Denning each had two.
