The annual Friends of NRA banquet was recently held at the Moose Lodge in Mount Pleasant.
Southeast Iowa Skeet Club treasurer John Dahl accepted a grant from Tim Bacon, Iowa representative of Friends of NRA. The funds will be used for a set of LaPorte Skeet machines for training youth shooting. The S.E. Iowa Skeet Club Inc. provides facilities and shooting activities for youth from neighboring areas, as well as locally.
Dahl said Friends of NRA have been very instrumental in promoting youth shooting sports. Grants awarded by the organization make it possible to upgrade shooting facilities for shooting and archery programs.
