Fritz runs away from competition at Centerville

CENTERVILLE ? Fairfield seventh-grader Samantha Fritz proved to be in late season form by winning the final race of the regular season Tuesday at the Centerville Invite.

Fritz was the first to cross the finish line in the 1.5-mile race with a time of 9:46. Teammate Taylor Ferrel finished in 10:30 to claim fourth place. Others with top 10 finishes were Kylie Kurtz at eighth (11:09) and Lindsey Repp at ninth (11:14).

Chloe Spalla was 12th (11:22), Shannon Morrissey came in 34th (12:58) and Katie Bell was 38th.

On the boys? side, Mitchell Burnstedt led the way with a 12th-place finish (10:04), while Roan Wadsworth was right behind in 15th (10:06). Eric Swan was 29th (10:51), Elijah Parr was 31st (11:17) and Nathan Thompson was 32nd (11:19).

Fairfield will host the conference meet Oct. 13.
