Fun and food at Brighton Community Building

Around 30 people (from the Brighton, Wayland, Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant and Washington areas) attended the weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting at the Brighton Church of God, Thursday, Feb. 21. Attendees enjoyed a lesson on the importance of human relationships in overcoming hurts, habits and hang-ups. The next meeting, open to the public, will be held Thursday, Feb. 28 beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
Roberta Sieren of Keota visited her father, Bob Shelangoski, on Feb. 23. They were joined by his son, Joe Goodell.
Joel and Mary Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield visited her mother, Winifred Fritz; they enjoyed an evening meal and playing cards.
On Feb. 26, a group of 25 people gathered to play 10 point pitch at the Brighton Community Building.
First and second place winners for the guys were Pete Daily and Gerald Pacha.
Pat Remington and Connie Fritz were the women winners.
Those wishing to join in the fun times Tuesdays at 6 p.m., 10 games for $1 a night. Finger food is provided by the players.
A couple dozen people (from the Brighton, Wayland, Fairfield, and Washington areas) attended the weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting at the Brighton Church of God, Thursday, Feb. 28. Amy Hay of Washington shared her story of finally admitting her powerlessness over and need for recovery from addiction to alcohol, and how God is using for His greater glory that, her additional recovery from cancer, and all her hurts, habits and hang-ups. The next meeting, open to the public, will be held Thursday, March 7, beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
