Fundraising lunch to send students to Camp Courageous

A luncheon fundraiser for all Fairfield students with disabilities, who go to Camp Courageous, is planned from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday at Phoenix Rising Hall.
Reservations are required by Thursday by calling 641- 451-1331 or emailing DivineStarLunches@gmail.com.
The menu includes: samosa or uttappam, raisin chutney or mint chutney, black eye pea curry, butternut squash curry, lemon rice, raita, mango lassi, pappadam, masala chai.
The fundraiser is planned by the nonprofit Divine Star Charities, with 'delicious Indian lunches by Vaju.”
The cost is $15, although additional donations are appreciated.
Those unable to attend the lunch, but who would like to donate, can send donations, payable to Divine Star Charities, to Fred Swartz, 200 W. Washington Ave., Fairfield 52556.
The proceeds will go to Camp Courageous of Iowa, a recreational facility for people of all ages with mental and physical disabilities. Students from Fairfield schools are able to attend camp each spring. With over 200 acres of land and 25 buildings, Camp Courageous allows kids to experience swimming, hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, arts and crafts and more.
Last spring, 66 students with special needs from Fairfield attended Camp Courageous.
Volunteers also are needed to help with the benefit lunch Friday. To volunteer, call 451-1331.
