Life Chain event planned Oct. 6
A National Life Chain event will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in Fairfield.
Participants will meet at 1:45 p.m. in the municipal parking lot at the corner of Court and Washington streets for an opening prayer. Pastors are encouraged to lead their parishioners to and participate in the event.
Pro-life signs will be provided. Participants who need chairs are encouraged to bring them.
Life Chain Sunday began 26 years ago in California and has spread nationwide. A Life Chain is a peaceful time of prayer with the goal of ending abortion. It is not a demonstration, but a peaceful, prayer-filled time to stand up in support of the unborn child.
For information, call Karen Crossland, president of Jefferson County Right to Life, at 472-9452.
UMM breakfast planned Oct. 5
United Methodist Men of First United Methodist Church will have a breakfast at 7 a.m. Oct. 5.
