The Garden Department of the Fortnightly Club met March 17, 2015, at the home of Linda Varney in Washington. Five members were present. Roll call was ?Your Favorite Garden Art.?
The minutes were read from the February meeting. There were no additions or corrections. The minutes were approved as read. There was no old business. In new business there was discussion regarding the upcoming benefit for Carolyn Schmidt, on April 21, sponsored by the Lutheran Church. Discussion regarding the May breakfast was held but was tabled until the April meeting.
The meeting was turned over to Shirley Pfeifer for the program on ?New Varieties of Flowers for 2015.? Over 6 dozen new flower varieties were named, with pictures of most. Shirley presented a very interesting program.
Refreshments were prepared and served by Mary Langr.
The next meeting will be on April 17 at the home of Sonya Gonzalez. The program will be ?Succulents,? by Mary Lynn Helscher. Roll call will be ?Your Favorite Succulent.?
