Garden Department, Fortnightly
The Garden Department of the Fortnightly Club met Sept. 16 at the home of Linda Varney in Washington. The 10 members present brought salads for the salad supper, and enjoyed a great variety of salads.
The roll call was ?What I did to perk up my garden.? The program was given by Linda Varney and was titled ?Making It Through the Summer.?
Yearly dues were due, and the anniversary luncheon tickets were available to ...

The Garden Department of the Fortnightly Club met Sept. 16 at the home of Linda Varney in Washington. The 10 members present brought salads for the salad supper, and enjoyed a great variety of salads.
The roll call was ?What I did to perk up my garden.? The program was given by Linda Varney and was titled ?Making It Through the Summer.?
Yearly dues were due, and the anniversary luncheon tickets were available to buy. The anniversary luncheon will be held on Nov. 14 at noon at the new Kirkwood Community College. Program for this will be a tour of the new Kirkwood Community College.
Vivian Griffin had brought red bud saplings for each person attending, and challenged each member to plant it and see who can grow the best one.
The next meeting will be on Oct. 21 at Shirley Pfeifer?s home, with Jane Fehr as co-hostess.
